Well, Summer and tee-shirt riding weather may be over, so now it’s time to put on some leather and check out nature’s colors in the mountains and valleys of Pennsylvania. Yeah, all of the "Thunder ins", "Roar ons", the "Rally ons", etc. are done for this year but coming up soon are the chapter elections, pool tournaments, Christmas parties, and all of the planning for next year’s events. And that includes our Chapter’s Christmas Party and Pool Tournament on December 3rd at the Burg Bar. So be sure to put that on your calendar and I’ll have the details next month. Here is some good news. If you didn’t know it yet. President Obama signed HR2715 (the Lead Law Bill) into effect on August 12th, so once again parents can LEGALLY buy youth sized ATVs and dirt bikes for their younger kids. Can you imagine that? Common sense finally prevailed. And that happened in no small part due to our chapter’s postcard writing campaign. That proves that getting involved does make a difference. This is the last month for chapter office nominations, so come to the meeting and join in on the Democratic Process. We have a couple of people stepping down from offices and need new people to fill the voids. Saying "yes" to a nomination isn’t the end of the world, it’s just opening up a new one. Besides, it would be pretty exciting to have some competition for an office for a change. Our election will be at our December 7th regular meeting. And remember, you must be a member in good standing to vote or run for an office, so check your membership card and make sure it is up to date.
